#PLAYPINOY

The basketball-crazy nation of The Philippines finally qualified for the Basketball World Basketball Cup after 36 years.

Using the inspirational words of Paul Anka (and the song “My Way” being considered the ‘other’ national anthem due to it’s popularity in karaoke across the country) we worked with BBH and Nike to help make Filipino’s proud of the diversity and unique ways they play the game.

The film ran only once during the half-time of the final to remind the country to stand proud, regardless of the result, but got the entire country standing tall.

OUR GAME. SHOT ON IPHONE

We travelled across India for Apple with Media Arts Lab to capture the true spirit of the way the country plays cricket. We put everyone on an even playing field (though many of the actual playing fields were not at all even) and featured players who are often overlooked; girls, the disabled and the blind.

Aired during the Cricket World Cup to celebrate the other billion Indian cricketer heroes not in the national team.

THE SURFER’S CODE

We brought the powerful words of Shaun Tomson's ‘Surfers Code’, written back in the 80's for Surfrider, to life to encourage local surfers to respect the sport, each other and the ocean.

Special thanks to director, Justin McMillan for lovingly crafting this film, Shaun for the wise words, Mick Fanning for his powerful voice and the world's best surfers, surfing cinematographers and the entire team who brought this wonderful film together. We and the waves thank you.

THE NEXT NEYMAR

Finding parallels with a young aspiring footballer and his own journey, Neymar helped us to inspire the next generation of Malaysian footballers for Nike.

KOBE, THE LAST #24

It’s a sign of respect for a team to retire a number in honour of a great player retiring but we encouraged an entire country to do the honour for Kobe. Props to Aste Gutierrez, Gaston Soto, Omar Sotomayor for bringing this beautiful project to life.

YOU RUN YOU

In some Asian cultures, women traditionally feel that sport is only for males. Nike wanted to show them that the only one holding them back was themself.

LOCK ON, STAY ON, PLAY ON

Earshots are earphones designed by riders, for riders. Their patented magnetic lock system means these don’t fall out, which keeps athletes in the zone. Ahead of a new global product launch, we refreshed the Earshots brand and created their STAY ON platform, working with athletes to create assets across all touch points.

SAVING THE TENEMENT

The community of The Tenement in Manila was facing eviction by the city. Thanks to our friends at Nike, we invited LeBron to come and play at the tenement’s community court while on a tour of The Phillipines.
Teaming with Mike Swift @ pinoyhoops to paint the court in LeBron’s honour, it received global coverage and brought attention to the plight of the community. Basketball loving city officials, including the mayor, attended and publicly announced that the communities homes were safe for the forseeable future.

the consurfationists

We helped Surfrider Foundation Australia to find focus on who they are and what they do then brought this to life through a brand refresh and campaigns. We continue to offer pro-bono strategic and creative direction across the brand, partnerships, merchandise, artist collaborations and environmental campaigns including the recent #FIGHTFORTHEBIGHT and #STOPPEP11 campaigns which helped the successful stopping of oil and gas drilling off our coast.

DO IN ODIN

Odin sports are a social enterprise who donate an item of clothing to those in need for every item it sells. We created the “DO IN ODIN” platform aimed at people who wanted to make an actual difference to themselves and for others. This is not just active wear but pro-active wear. We heroed their community of doers from a diverse range of sports, uniting them with a common goal of doing good.

rubbish swimmers

We teamed up with the swimmers of Australia’s most famous swim club, The Bondi Icebergs, to bring attention to the amount of single-use plastic in our oceans. We featured regulars and world record holders alike, uniting the community for the fight against plastic.

HACKING THE STREETS FOR RUNNING

No sports facilities are no excuse not to run. We painted 40+ locations around Jakarta to encourage people to just do it.
